Exciting news!

I am very excited to share a bit of good news with you today:

I am going to be contributing to Poppytalk, the super inspiring Canadian design blog! I told you about Poppytalk before, when they included my cards in their Handmade Market. I have been visiting Poppytalk daily for several years. So, I am especially honored to have the chance to contribute to a site I love so much. They feature a steady stream of wonderful DIY tutorials, affordable handmade goodness and all-around gorgeous photos. Poppytalk also includes dispatches from around the globe, sharing a little glimpse of a cool shop, street art, artist interview, etc. from an amazingly cool spot (Australia, Dublin, Italy, Sweden, Tokyo, the UK, France, Spain.) I am so giddy that I am going to be contributing "Dispatches from Austin" twice a month - Austin is an amazingly vibrant, creative city, so I am very proud to be able to offer a little peek of my hometown to the rest of the world. Also, this gives me the motivation to get out and explore my own city with the eyes of a visitor. I think I might just owe it to the Poppytalk audience to make that trip to Marfa I've been putting off for years, don't you? ;-)

My first post is up today, you can check it out here. I wrote about Big Red Sun, a landscape and design firm that has been around Austin more than fifteen years, but just last year reopened in a new location on E. Cesar Chavez with a lovely boutique and nursery.
